Are you flying into Vancouver International Airport (YVR) and are hoping to use public transportation to get to your hotel? I recently flew into YVR and documented exactly how to access the SkyTrain while trying to travel to my hotel in Downtown Vancouver. Let’s get into it!
See a map of the airport here!
After landing at the airport, I made my way through immigration. On the map, this is labeled as the Canada Border Services Agency. Eventually, you will get to these statues. Go straight through the sliding glass doors, exiting the airport.

Once outside, directly in front of you, there will be a series of crosswalks; follow these across to the other side.

There will be signs that say “Train to City”, follow these!

Once you are fully across the street, take the first escalator up.

Then, turn and take the second upwards!

You will then arrive at the station. If you have any questions, they have a phone set up. Pick it up, and you will be connected with a customer service representative who can answer any questions you may have!

Pass through the turnstiles after tapping your credit/debit card, and head onto the platform.

The train arrives frequently, and if you head to the leftmost section of the platform, you can grab a spot at the front and have a great view of the city from your seat!

That’s it! I was nervous about attempting to navigate public transportation by myself in a different country, but it ended up being super simple. Have a great trip!
