When booking my trip to Vancouver I was attracted to the Hyatt Regency’s amenities, updated rooms, and prime location. Here is a complete breakdown of the hotel so you know what to expect on your visit, and whether or not you should book a stay here.
Airport Accessibility
I arrived at Vancouver Airport (YVR) at about 11:30 am and was able to make my way out to the train station without major difficulties. (Read my blog post about finding the train station at the airport here)
After a brief roughly 20-minute long ride I disembarked at the Vancouver City Centre Stop. This stop seemed to be the closest available to the Hyatt Regency.
It took approximately 10 minutes for me to reach the hotel, rolling my carry-on along on the sidewalk.

Check-In
Check-in was smooth(ish). I had requested on the app to check in early and that wish was granted, however, there were some issues with my keys not working.
Once they believed it was not a user error, security escorted me to my room, let me in with a master key, and then brought two new keys to my room within a few minutes.
The Room
I stayed in a two double room with two other adults. I am used to sharing a queen bed, so the double bed felt a bit small for me but was doable.
We had a view of the pool, and nearby buildings, with a bit of the mountains peeking through.

Location
Located in Downtown Vancouver the Hyatt Regency is perfectly positioned to explore Vancouver. We were able to walk to Gastown and take public transportation to visit Stanley Island and Granville Island.
Nearby, one of my favorite restaurants, Hello Nori, was just a short walk away. So were quite a few shops and a supermarket.
Additionally, the Capillano Suspension Bridge Park free shuttle has a pickup just outside the hotel. This makes visiting one of Vancouver’s top attractions a breeze, and saves money on an Uber or rental car to access this spot. (Read about my trip to Capillano here!)

Breakfast and Meals
Breakfast was not included in our stay, however, there are dining options available. Additionally, a Starbucks is located right in the lobby!
Hot Tub and Pool
I always love to stay in a hotel with a pool. The Hyatt Regency not only had a heated rooftop pool but also an oversized hot tub and sauna! Many of the hotels I stay at have “heated pools”, but the temperature of the water was perfect and we were able to enjoy the pool even in 50 degrees F weather.

Check Out
As I came down to the lobby early in the morning, the concierge immediately asked if I needed help with my bags, and if they could call a taxi for me. I had ordered an Uber and didn’t have many bags but I appreciated the offer.

Would I stay again? Absolutely! The rooms were quiet, and even though we were right next to the elevator I never heard a thing. The hotel felt extremely secure, and my calls to the lobby were immediately answered and my problems resolved. The rooms were clean and stayed that way.
