As someone who goes to Walt Disney World a LOT, during different seasons, and packs their own suitcase, I have chosen eight items that you need for your next trip to Walt Disney World. I value a light backpack in the parks, and know that space is limited in suitcases when flying! This list has no frills, no extras, and no items above $30! Let’s get into it!

Cheap Ponchos
You have probably heard that a poncho is a must when going to Walt Disney World, where rain is always possible, and often likely. Or, maybe you are less concerned about rain, and more concerned about getting soaked on Tiana’s! I see a lot of influencers promoting heavy-duty ponchos that will last a long time. As someone who has one of these, I would highly recommend that you do NOT bring a heavy poncho, and instead buy cheaper, lighter ones.
Is it possible that these rip? Yes. But they likely will not be in tatters by the end of that day. Buy multiple for your family, and grab a new one each day to simplify your trip, and cut down on stress.
A heavy poncho will weigh down for backback, trap humidity, and be difficult to store once you get on a ride, or are indoors.
Check out these ponchos that come in bright colors that will make it easy to spot your family!!

A Lightweight Reusable Water Bottle
A reusable bottle is a lifesaver while on lines without access to a fountain, or free cups of ice water at a quick service location. I choose to use a lightweight plastic Yeti bottle that is super easy to wash, and doesn’t weigh down my pack. Although it warms up more quickly than a Hydroflask, which is often recommended, I just get a cup of ice at my meals and dump it in! Less weight=less backpain!

Moleskin
Moleskin can be used for both blister prevention, and pain relief! It is an essential for anyone who isn’t used to long days of walking or standing. Moleskin is also super simple to apply, just cut to the desired size and apply to the affected area! I find myself applying to hot spots on almost all of my trips!

Blister Band Aids
Moleskin may not be easy to apply to the younger members of your family, and won’t hold up in the pool either! Consider getting Blister Band Aids instead!

Cooling Towels
If you are visiting Walt Disney World in the summer, consider bringing along a cooling towel! These ones are terrific because they come with carabiners to clip onto the outside of your bag! They always make me feel so much cooler on long lines and while watching the parades.

Many people recommend the viral neck fans. I have these, and purchased for my family, but they get annoying to carry around the parks. If you have kids, picture carrying multiple of these and juggling them while getting onto rides or watching shows. I prefer the lightweight towels which take up less space in suitcases and are lighter in my backpack on park days! To each their own though, go with your gut when choosing which is right for your family!
TSA Approved Sunscreen
This may be an obvious one, but sunscreen can get expensive in the Parks and at the hotels. If you are flying in, remember to pack your favorite sunscreen in a TSA approved size. Shade can be limited in the parks and a bad sunburn can ruin your trip! My favorite is Blue Lizard 100% Mineral Sunscreen for Sensitive Skin. This sunscreen contains no Oxybenzone and no Octinoxate, is Paraben free and fragrance free, ideal for sensitive skin, water resistant, and as a bonus reef safe!

Body Glide
Alright. Here me out on this one. This body glide has multiple purposes for ALLL members of the family. I use body glide to stop my thighs from chafing. (Extreme thigh chafing has had me cowboy walking through the park on day four in the past!) It isn’t greasy, hasn’t caused any stains on my clothing, and packs easily into my bag.

That concludes my list of items that I find to be essential on my trips to Walt Disney World. Let me know down below which items you would add or remove! 🙂 Thanks for reading!
