When you suffer from anxiety, it can quickly take over your trip and put a damper on your vacation. Don’t let your anxiety win! Here are 6 ways you can prevent it.

Read, Read, Read
Go to the library, look up travel blogs, buy some books, and read all you can about the location you are visiting! Having more information keeps you in control and allows you to formulate a plan.
Create a Google Map Using Google My Maps!
When using Google My Maps, I create layers that allow me to visualize where all of my accommodations, experiences, restaurants, and airports will be. This prepares me for my trip and gets me so familiar with the city I am going to.
Research Restaurants in Advance
Look up menus, read reviews, and make reservations. It will take the guessing out of dinner time each night. Even if you end up cancelling the reservation and changing your mind the day of, it is nice to have a safety net!
Pay More to Choose Your Seat
Whether you are flying to your destination, taking a train, or bus, I would highly recommend paying a bit extra to guarantee your seat. To me, the extra money is worth knowing I have a window seat, near my friends and family.
Pack Extra Medications
In addition to any prescription medicines you take, consider bringing additional medicine for motion sickness, pain relief, and the common cold. I keep mine in a little tin in my backpack, and it helps assure me that I’m prepared for anything!
Consider Booking a Tour
Are you stressed at the idea of navigating a city or local attraction? Consider a tour group with a knowledgeable guide. This will allow you to follow along without the stress of sticking to a schedule or doing extra research in advance.
