When you are planning to visit the American Museum of Natural History in New York City, you may be overwhelmed by the number of exhibitions there are to see! If you are visiting NYC on a time crunch, and can’t spend the entire day in the museum, there are a few must-see spots you have to check out!
All of these spots are included in regular admission. Also, if you are a New York, New Jersey, or Connecticut resident, you can pay what you wish for tickets, even if that is a dollar!
If rocks are your thing, check out the Hall of Gems and Minerals! Or, head over to one of the most popular exhibits is the Rose Center for Earth and Space, which houses a giant spherical planetarium and a collection of meteorites.
The museum’s dinosaur exhibits are a must-see, featuring a variety of life-sized models, fossils, and interactive displays. The exhibit is filled with fossils of all sizes allowing you to take in a range from the stunning T-rex to smaller ancient species of fish.
Explore the Hall of Ocean Life, which features a 94-foot-long model of a blue whale, as well as other marine life exhibits.
The Gilder Center is one of my new favorite spots. The unique architecture and new insectarium exhibits will definitely take up a chunk of your time. The steps seen below are a great place to sit down and get your bearings, and snap some photos of course!
These are just a few highlights of the many exhibits and attractions at the American Museum of Natural History. There’s something for everyone, so make sure to plan enough time to explore all that it has to offer! Feel free to use this vision board to help inspire your trip! 🙂
