A Casual Dinner
Although my family loves Ocean City staples like Shenanigans, this year we stayed on First Street and were a short walk from Da Lazy Lizard. With a name like that, we had to check it out!
Not only was the food we ordered great, so were the views! There is dock seating, indoor seating, and even a kids area! I haven’t been to a restaurant with a kids area and it is a great amenity for families with younger children. I’d recommend making a reservation to avoid waiting for a table or coming a little early.
Seafood
Getting some seafood is a must in Ocean City! We prefer to head across the bridge to Crab Alley vs. the main strip because it is usually less crowded. Having space to crack open crabs is always a plus!
My group got the cream of crab, fried oysters, crab cakes, rockfish fingers, snow crab, and the crab platter for two. Everyone loved their meals and although the bill was steep, it seemed reasonable for seafood and comparable to other restaurants in the area.
Boardwalk Ice Cream
When you get on the boardwalk you will find that there is no shortage of water ice and ice cream shops! For thick milkshakes and hard ice cream, I would recommend Dumsers. Head to Khor’s for some soft serve. For the first time this year, my family tried out DoDo Edible Cookie Dough & Ice Cream and really enjoyed their unique salted bananas foster flavor.
Mini Golf
There are so many mini-golf spots up and down the Ocean City main drag. If you 10 people their favorite, you may get 10 different answers! We enjoyed Island Golf and Old Pro Golf. Check for coupons online before going, and consider going before 5 pm for the best discounts and lower crowds.
Satisfy your Sweet Tooth
If you are looking for chocolates, sweets, and authentic saltwater taffy, Dolle’s should be at the top of your list! We enjoyed the variety of taffy flavors they had to offer, their popcorn buckets, and watching them work on the candy at their boardwalk location!
A Fun Souvenir
Are you looking for a souvenir to bring home to remind you of your trip that isn’t a magnet or a keychain? Head to the Kite Loft! The shop is filled with fun kites, yard spinners, and more typical souvenirs like ornaments.
A Brewery
We stopped in to Fin City Brewing Company and were pleasantly surprised. Everyone inside was extremely friendly, we were were served quickly, and offered fresh drinks often. That sort of attentiveness can be rare in breweries and bars! We loved that you are able to order food using the QR codes at each table from the restaurants next door. It was brought right to our table within the brewery in less than ten minutes, hot and delicious!
Whether you decide to partake in casual dining with stunning views at Da Lazy Lizard, delicious seafood at Crab Alley, tasty boardwalk treats, or buying yourself a quirky souvenir, these recommendations are sure to set you on the right track for your vacation! I hope you have a lovely trip!
