Are you traveling to Acadia National Park and follow a Dairy Free, Nut Free, or both diet/ lifestyle? Make sure you check out these places on your visit!
Packaged Snacks
While you are in the park, keep you eyes out for specialty snacks and sodas! Blueberry soda is both dairy and nut free and sold in many of the park gift shops. Maple candy is another popular treat, and comes in an assortment of shapes, including lobsters. These little lad’s cookies are my favorite find in the park. They come in a variety of flavors, (some containing nuts so read the labels!), and can be found in the Jordan Pond gift shop and even at the top of Cadillac Mountain. I am always on the lookout for Blueberry Lemon.
Little Lad’s used to supply pies to a shop in Southwest Harbor I frequented multiple times during my trips, but unfortunately that shop has permanently closed. If you do see their pies somewhere in the park, I would highly recommend grabbing a bumbleberry pie!
CJ’s Big Dipper
This is my go-to spot for ice cream in Bar Harbor. Not only do they have dairy-free ice creams and sorbets, they also have regular ice cream my family loves. (The fresh blueberry soft serve is a fan favorite! A fair amount of the dairy-free ice cream options are nut-free, but some contain almond milk so be careful!
Archie’s Lobster
If you are heading up to Maine, you probably have your sights set on trying out a Lobster Roll! For those with a Dairy Allergy, it can be difficult to find somewhere that serves a safe roll. My favorite lobster roll spot is Archie’s Lobster, they served me my roll in a dairy-free, gluten-free bun, with a side of chips for an extremely reasonable price! They also really load up the rolls, and are not sparing with claws, as you can see from my pictures! They often have live music playing here, cornhole, and tables along the water. It is a fantastic spot and I would highly recommend checking it out on your trip.
