I attended the Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party this Fall and have multiple food allergies. Here is everything you need to know, and what to expect during your night if you or someone you are travelling with has food allergies!

Picking Up Your Bag
We hadn’t seen clear instructions online regarding how to pick up our Teal Allergy-Friendly Trick or Treat Bags. The instructions had told us to ask a cast member when we received our bands; however, we didn’t receive our bags until after we had proceeded into the park and were herded over towards Tomorrowland.
Don’t worry about being on the correct line for allergy-friendly bags. Every cast member manning the lines will have the teal bags!
Two things you should note ahead of time to prevent possible disappointment from any youngsters: the teal bags are not made of the same sturdy material as the normal bags. They are plastic, and although they will hold up throughout the night, they are not reusable in the same way as the normal bags are. Secondly, the normal bags contain a surprise piece of candy in them right off the bat when you receive them. The teal bags do not.
These two things are not a huge deal. Disney already goes above and beyond for allergies, but it’s good to know ahead of time.
Getting Tokens
To get your allergy-free candy, you first need to collect tokens from the trick-or-treating lines. To find out where you can Trick-or-Treat, check out the Event Map in the Walt Disney World app! You will wait on the normal line, then, when you get to the front of the line where the cast members scoop out the candy, show your bag and ask for a token! (Don’t lose these tokens, you will need to cash them in later!)
I chose not to wait on many lines; instead, we only went to the line at the Laugh Floor around 10:45 PM. In less than five minutes, we had walked up to the Cast Members distributing candy. Because I only received one token, I thought that I might get less candy. However, I ended up with a full bag regardless! (I go into this further down below in Candy Pickup!)

Regular Candy
The candy that is distributed on the candy lines does have options with allergens like nuts. We found that a lot of people began eating their candy right away, so if you are someone who has airborne allergies or reactions due to contact, please keep this in mind when touching handles, lap bars on rides, etc.!
Candy Pickup
There are two spots this year where you can redeem the tokens you have collected. The first is in Liberty Square, the Second is in the Chamber of Commerce. We went to the Chamber of Commerce at the end of the night, around 11:30pm. You will walk up with your bag, and a cast member will greet you, ask what your allergies are, and determine which treats you can have based on their chart. I have dairy, peanut, and tree nut allergies, so the only item I couldn’t eat was the Sugar Free Wether’s Caramels.
The cast member then fills up your bag for you and hands it back to you. Very simple!
I would recommend coming at the end of the night. I had only one token, and still had a full bag of candy. I’ve heard that others had shown up with one token earlier in the night and got a lighter haul of sweets.

What are the Candy Options?
This year, the options were granola, Free 2B caramel cups, Yum Earth organic fruit snacks, Organic Giggles, Yum Earth Organic Pops, Yum Earth gummy bears, Choco Yums, Werther’s sugar-free caramels, Smarties, Sunflower Butter Cups, and Yum Earth Fruit Chews. Quite a selection!

That is everything you can expect for Allergy-Friendly Trick or Treating at Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party at Walt Disney World! Have any questions? Let me know down below, and Boo to You! 🙂
