3.5 hours from NYC, and 1 hour from the Capital Region, Cooperstown New York is a charming small town with a lot of history! If you are searching for a cozy spot to get away for the weekend with your significant other (or some friends!), consider taking a trip to Cooperstown. (You don’t have to be a baseball fan to have fun here!)
Where to Stay:
If you are looking for an elegant, historic hotel, look no further than Hotel Otesaga. As soon as you step inside you will feel not only the history of the building, but the grandeur as you take in the grand piano, expansive windows, and beautiful view of the lake.
Thoughtful touches throughout my stay sealed the deal for me. Custom Hotel Otesaga chocolates on the pillow at night, turndowns twice a day, and a daily outlook giving you information like weather, activities, and meal times truly made this a luxury experience.

What to Do:
Farm Museum- History enthusiasts will love visiting Fenimore Farm and checking out their working farm and historic village! Check their schedule for unique workshop offerings like blacksmithing and broom making.
National Baseball Hall of Fame Museum- You all saw this one coming, the most expected item on any trip guide to Cooperstown would be a visit to the Baseball Hall of Fame Museum!
Cooperstown Distillery– The Cooperstown Distillery offers a cozy atmosphere to test delicious spirits. The wooden fixtures and leather furniture truly elevate your tasting experience. The items they have in their shop are perfect to remember your time in Cooperstown, or bring home to someone who missed out on the fun!

Where to Shop:
Baseballism Cooperstown- A great shop for baseball-themed souvenirs including t-shirts, ornaments, and collectibles!
Willis Monie Books- Books line every wall space, piled high throughout this booklover’s paradise. Find your next read here!
The Local Bird- Probably my favorite store we visited! Check out their unique book selection, handmade cards, unique plants, and quick bites they have to offer!

Where to Eat:
While you can dine at Hotel Otesaga, don’t be afraid to branch out into town. Norbu, Cooperstown Diner, Doubleday Cafe, and Schneider’s Bakery are highly recommended!
When planning your visit, be sure to look into any local events happening during your stay! You may be able to time up your trip to include a festival, or even stop in to a farmers market to try some local produce.
