Ohana means family, or a family-style meal at Disney’s Polynesian Resort! Ohana offers two meal services, breakfast and dinner. If you are considering splurging on breakfast at Ohana, read this post first, where I list out five reasons you may want to skip this restaurant!

Long Wait Times
It took almost two hours to see all of the characters. We saw Lilo within the first half hour, but the remaining characters didn’t come to us until nearly 70 minutes later. At the point we had been there for over an hour and a half, had finished eating, and were simply waiting for the rest of the characters to make their way over to us. Our waitress kept coming to ask if we had seen all the characters, and we got the feeling that we were almost being pushed out. When they finally did come around, they were spaced one table apart, so our interactions felt very rushed. If you have small children, I would be wary of the long wait times, and restlessness.
Poor Service
We weren’t just waiting for the characters, we also had a hard time getting a hold of our waitress. Although two people were assigned to our table, we didn’t see much of them after the initial food drop-off. We never got refills on our drinks, and could not get more food. When we finally did ask for more food, we were brought an almost comically small portion. This led me to believe that perhaps they were running out of food?
Out of Certain Items
At the very start of our meal, we asked for Kona coffee, however, our waitress told us that all of the pots had already been distributed and there were no more left. Our group had been really excited to experience this, so don’t count on Kona coffee being available when you visit!
Price
If you are someone who likes to get a bang for your buck, and are paying out of pocket (non-dining plan) for this meal, I would not expect to make your money back on food alone.
The Food
We were served Freshly Made Pineapple-Coconut Breakfast Bread, Fresh Fruit, Scrambled Eggs, Hawaiian-style Ham with Pineapple Compote, Pork Breakfast Sausage Links, Fried Island-style Potatoes, Mickey-shaped and Stitch Character Waffles, and Warm Biscuits.
Although I think Ohana is not worth the money, there are some pros. If you are a die-hard Lilo and Stitch fan, I think you will enjoy the atmosphere at Ohana, and the Hawaiian Roller Coaster Ride parade that the characters do. If you like to meet characters and want more food options, I would highly recommend Crystal Palace. It has the all-you-can-eat aspect, character dining, and a similar price point!
