Are you looking to ride Rise of the Resistance at Disney’s Hollywood Studios as a single rider? Or are you on line right now wondering how much time you have left in the queue? You are in luck, I documented my journey today so that you know exactly what your wait will look like!
Last year, I tried single rider ROTR for the first time with my husband….and I HATED it. We were on line for over an hour and a half and never having waited in this queue before, I had no sense of how much longer we had left to wait. Every time since, I have experienced shorter wait times under 30 minutes.
The single rider line starts pretty much right where the ride lets you off at the end. If you are at the main entrance to the rider (standby and lightning lane) head to the right and you will see a cast member standing at the start of the queue.
Your first wait will be in the canyon like area with minimal shade. Here, a cast member holds the line and lets groups go in small amounts depending on how much space is on the other side. You group will get split up here, but reconnected on the other side. (You likely won’t be seated together on the ride, and cannot request to stay together, but it is nice to wait in line with company).
Once you make it through the canyon area you will walk quickly across the loading area, and into a narrow hallway.
After this, you walk through the area with stormtroopers moving quickly. You cannot stop to take pictures here as they want to keep the area clear for incoming guests who have waited on line.
After crossing the stormtrooper area you will be put in another queue directly across from the standby/lightning lane line. If the line is full on your side I would expect a wait of at least 30 minutes at this point. The line goes straight, makes a sharp right, and then sharp left. Once you make it to the end of the straightaway you are nearly there!
And that is it! You then get sorted to fill in the spaces with other guests. Enjoy your ride and may the force be with you!
